So you think you're finished. Now what...??
Now that you have a better idea of the critical events leading up to the birth of our nation and varying opinions of the time, just think – How would things have been different if the assembly initially voted against war with the British? What if we lost key battles such as the Battle of Yorktown? What if we lost the American Revolution? Would we have eventually gained our independence or would we still be under British rule?
Discuss these questions with your group members and be prepared to share with the class and offer support for your conclusions.
